Centre for Disability Studies - a training venue
- Disability Essex has now moved into its new eco HQ, the Centre for Disability Studies, and is building up a portfolio of training courses to take place on site.
- Already, a partnership with the Safety First Organisation will incorporate training courses for disabled drivers and mobility scooter users.
- The Essex Independent Care Asssociation will be using the centre as its focus for carers' training.
Training courses
- The Disability Access Auditor course (Level 3) and the Disability Equality (Train-the-Trainer) course (Level 2) are currently provided in Essex, with plans to extend regionally.
- We are also working on the production of new courses, starting with Sustainable Building Concepts (Level 2), to be set up in conjunction with the AECB (Association of Environmentally Conscious Builders).
- All our courses will be accredited by the National Awarding Body (NCFE) and the Open College Network (OCN).
